28mm Oil Rig for SPECTRE Operations (practically) finished

It can use some more details and a few better magnets for the attachment of the stairs and antennae but my oil rig gaming table center piece is ready for its first game! See how I built it here.

So I am shamelessly showing it off in this blog.  😆

Some unforeseen drilling results

The rig all taken apart and compact for transport and storage

And of course some highly qualified personnel...

Gotham City Bank Heist: a Spectre game

A pictorial report of a Spectre Ops game. The scenario was basically Bob's Bargain Bullets Raid but this time with a bank as a centerpiece. Made by Pats Lasercuttings, by the way.

My honorable opponent pltting his strategy

The cityscape

One of the ambushing gangsters revealed. Way too early I might add...

The SWAT team moving in

The gang leader scoring a grenade launcher hit on a police car

but revealing himself that way, got gunned down

Gangsters in the crowd were sniffed out and a furious firefight ensued

Building a 28mm oil rig for Spectre Operations: Building the superstructure

Starting the build of a 28mm oil rig for Spectre missions. Just some initial pictures for now, but more will follow!

28mm figure for scale.

Nest are the big stairs connecting the floors of the oil rig.

The stairs will be attached by magnets underneath the floors.

Below I am trying out the layout of the superstructure and buildings. It is important to keep enough space to place and  move miniatures during the game. Although the rig can be taken apart for transport this is impractical during play. I built the basic shapes of the superstructures buildings and detailing will follow.

A 1/43 Jet Ranger helicopter and some 28mm figures for scale.

And with the first layers of paint on the hull the building of the superstructure can progress...

Starting the superstructur: doors and windows

Detailing the bridge

A decompression tank or something to put explosive stuff in

The crane

The submarine shed. Waddaya mean oil rigs don't have submarines? Of course they do!

Helicopter pad

And my littte trick to close doors.....

....and open them again!

And more painting....

And testing the compactness for transport

See the (mostly) finished rig here
